Maura and I went to high school together and it was a privilege to tag along with Ben and watch their day unfold. The light at the Our Lady’s Chapel at Elms College in Chicopee, MA was phenomenal and the only thing better than that was seeing Justin’s face when the church doors opened up to Maura walking the aisle with her Dad. A tip to couples planning their weddings: if you can arrange it, make sure I ride in the car with you. There are lots of great little moments while riding in the limo. The reception space was a cool loft space, Open Square in Holyoke, MA. We were treated to Seth Mias Catering and the flowers were wonderfully done by Flowers by Webster in Westfield, MA.

We ended up with a gorgeous blue sky day and a great reason to bust out the sunglasses and then took a break to visit a super cool and modern staircase at Mass Maritime Academy.

I’ll warn you now that Pinterest will never be the same after Nicole shares her wedding day crafting talents. I hear amazing things and will blog all about it soon enough!!

We toured the North End together and some of their favorite places when they used to live there. Now they’re on the West Coast but are coming back to Massachusetts for their Cape wedding in August!!

EEEKKKK, how exciting and awesome is that? It says amazing things about Tracey and John that they are planning their wedding at a brewery. If Ben and I weren’t shooting this wedding we’d want to sneak in and crash it. Honestly.

So for our practice / engagement shoot we played it pretty casual as well. We found pretty little scenes along the road and even one in an abandoned and overgrown parking lot near Groton, MA. Farther down the road is Barn at Gibbet Hill and the Bancroft Castle Ruins, we made a stop there too.

Mallory & Jonathan planned the perfect little shoot at Eagle Mountain House in Jackson, NH a place that’s very special to their relationship. We went sledding at the end of the shoot but it ended up being my favorite part!

Ben and I will see these two in February 2014 for their wedding. Is sledding on the wedding day a possibility? Maybe at the end of the night….

Lots to look forward to in September and Jaclyn & Anthony’s wedding is top on the list at the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square Cambridge.

Judy & Nathan’s wedding was filled with everything I love. Vibrant color and good energy, it was a party that was celebrating love….. with a self serve candy bar and popcorn! Check out the rest of the Somerville Center for the Arts Wedding here.

When it’s snowing (insert other common wedding day occurrence: raining, loosing daylight, running out of time, behind schedule, etc )…. I want to know that I can have a quality portrait session with my clients under any circumstances.

We had just toured Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, where we’ll return for their June wedding and wanted to shoot a brief session while it was snowing. Quite a different scene than we experienced at Emily & Ben’s backyard engagement party last year.  It was sunny summer pool party with a perfectly tailored design and vibe that was crafted by Emily’s parents and their business Siagel Productions

These two already had some experience in front of the camera, they made it look effortless again in below freezing temps. See you both again in June!!

Window light and a confident smile are all that I really need to create a great portrait. We shot this session at home and I was drawn to this soft light that came through a window.
