1. Who is Steph Stevens Photo?
I want to bring out the best in my couples.
To create a comfortable environment where they can be themselves, always feel beautiful and never feel posed.
To give you images that are authentic, enthusiastic and a little quirky.
If that’s what you’re looking for, I want to be your wedding photographer!
2. What’s your style? Posed and Formal? Photojournalistic? Creative & Artistic?
YES! Over the course of your wedding day I need my style to adapt to what is unfolding in front of me. Photos of everyone getting ready are fun, relaxed and photojournalistic. The ceremony requires strategy to make sure I’m getting the right shots at the right moments, but while you’re up there exchanging vows, rings and kisses – I’m a fly on the wall. During the family formals I have checklist and make sure we get every shot we need to and with good reason that’s a little formal. The detail shots are creative and artistic. The dancing shots are candid and hilarious. The couples portraits are a quiet moment alone in the midst of your unforgettable wedding day. They’re inspired by the environment around you and I might ask you to kiss but you’d probably do that anyways.
3. Digital or film? Color or Black & White?
Always digital. I’m a Canon girl. During the high-action moments of the day I’ll have 2-3 cameras on hand and various other goodies in my bag to make sure your photos are far from ordinary. While I’m shooting I already know if something is going to be better suited as a classic black & white or in vibrant colors, but I don’t have to make that final decision till I’m back at my computer.
4. Referrals
I’d be happy to put you in touch with some of my former clients. Many of them have contributed on my Praise page, but they cold go into the nitty-gritty details about the entire process.
5. Can we give you a shot list to work from?
I welcome and encourage your input. I want to hear the must have images! Most of it will come from this questionnaire and the rest we’ll figure out at our consultation. Any last minutes things that come up as the big day gets closer, just give me a call, shoot me an email or write on my facebook wall.
6. Planning Consultation
There’s a lot to talk about before a wedding. Let’s meet at the studio and go over all the details. If possible I also would love to see your venue if I’m not familiar with it already.
7. How many photos will we get from our wedding?
Typically I’ll come home from an 8 hour wedding with around +3000 captures. Much of my post production work is getting that number trimmed down to the best images. Typical weddings can expect 80-100 images per hour of coverage. There’s always more with a room full of rowdy dancers.
8. What will Steph wear?
Something black or otherwise neutral and unassuming and “all day on my feet” shoes.
If there’s a style of dress that would be more appropriate for your day, let me know.
9. When will we see our photos?
The sooner the better! I like to send out a sneak peek within a day or so of the wedding or event. If you’re heading off on your honeymoon the next day I want to make sure your profile picture is properly updated. And the rest of them? Your images will be ready to view online within 6 weeks and album delivery can vary but can arrive as early as 4 months after your wedding.
10. Online Viewing
A great way to share the entire day’s worth of pictures with family and friends online. If they want their own prints, send them to your online gallery and they will take care of the rest.
11. Do we get the digital files from our wedding?
Your wedding, your photos. Feel free to print and share. The high resolution images on the DVD have been cropped, adjusted for color and exposure, etc…
Typically these images will not be retouched or enhanced individually. These files, in most cases, can be reproduced up to 24″ x 36″ by a trained printing professional. Please contact me for more information about my retouching and printing services.
12. Prints
There are going to be a few images that deserve a spot on the wall or would make a great gift. Let me make an archival print, but not any ordinary print. Every detail in the print is perfect and maybe even beyond perfect.
13. Image Rights
The images are licensed to the client for personal use only. As the photographer, I reserve the right to use the images for self-promotion but no other commercial purpose.
14. Second Shooters & Assistants
My husband Ben has been by my side second shooting weddings since 2009. I count on him to hang out with the groom while the guys get ready, get that church loft shot during the ceremony and grab all the little unexpected moments throughout the day. Sometimes I even have a third shooter or photobooth assistant if the day calls for it.
15. Backup Equipment
Planning and being prepared for the extremely rare “worst case scenario” is an important part of every shoot. Multiple bags are packed with multiple sets of equipment. Multiple camera bodies, lenses, lights, batteries, etc… Most important is a continual backup of image files onto a portable hard drive as the day progresses. Having your priceless images in more than one place is another preventative measure against the worst worst-case scenario.
16. Albums
I offer albums through CoutureBook, Madera Books, AsukaBook, IrisBook for the ultimate keepsake. From the toenail polishing with the bridesmaids to the last dance, it’s all there to tell one heck of a story.
17. Slideshows
Sometimes wedding photos are best viewed rapid fire and set to some great music. So I love to create a movie that recaptures the energy of the event.
18. Pre-Wedding Practice Shoot
Call it an engagement shoot if you’d like, but really I want to get out before the wedding and shoot some fun photos of the two of you before the wedding. Cute photos, stress free, to create a little buzz about you before the big day.
Think – New profile picture or newspaper announcement. It’s also a great way to get to know each other.
19. Save The Dates
We select a favorite image from our engagement session and I make up a fabulous postcard with all the necessary details for your guests.
20. GuestBooks
If you’re going to have a guestbook the pages might as well be filled with gorgeous pictures from your engagement session, with enough white space for all the well wishes and congratulations from family and friends.
21. Thank You Cards
Half fold cards with a timeless image from the wedding on the front.
22. Everything Else
Did I leave something out? Be in touch with me. I’m an open book.
